Summary
US equities opened on a positive note, but the gains were shaky, as there just wasn't any real buying interest. There was a moderate cooling into early afternoon, but then a late afternoon recovery to close fractionally lower.
It is notable that whilst the headline indexes closed a little mixed, the two leaders - Trans/R2K, both saw very significant gains.
Volatility remains broadly subdued, with the VIX settling +1.8% to 15.27. S/t outlook offers the sp'2920s, which should equate to the 18/19s.
