Never again in my lifetime

US equity indexes closed rather mixed, the sp'500 settled u/c at 2888. Dow -0.1%. Nasdaq comp' -0.2%. The two leaders - Trans/R2K, settled +0.8% and -0.2% respectively.

It was another pretty subdued day in equity land, opening a little higher, but then taking a minor break lower into the afternoon. Volatility was itself subdued, with the VIX melting lower for a second day, settling -2.1% at 13.02.

Kudlow was on the loose today...

Ohh, and then we have...

Gartman, Jan'25th 2016

Original video:

We've all made lousy economic/market calls in our time, not least yours truly. However, those within the mainstream spotlight, sure often like to make reference to 'it' not happening within 'their life time'.

Gartman's oil call has of course failed, with WTIC printing $76.90 last year. Its difficult not to see some kind of recession and/or crisis within the next few years. As for 'no more rate hikes', that sounds like crazy talk, but then... we're in crazy times.

As of writing - April 11th 2019, Kudlow, Yellen, and Gartman, are all still alive and kicking.

Battling to ascend!
