VIX climbs into the weekend

With US indexes being spooked by Ukrainian news, the VIX climbed into the weekend, settling +5.9% @ 13.15  (intra high 14.94). Near term outlook is for 15s on Monday, before resuming lower to the 11/10s.

Summary

Suffice to say, despite the Friday gains, the VIX still saw net weekly declines of -16.6%.

I would expect to see some further gains next Monday - along with the sp'1930s, before the VIX resumes lower across much of next week.

Whether single digit VIX will occur - if sp'2000s... difficult to say.
