Cooling into the weekend

US equity indexes closed broadly weak, sp -18pts (0.5%) at 3327. Nasdaq comp' -0.5%. Dow -0.9%. The Transports settled -0.2%.

Summary

US equities opened on a weak note, and saw weak chop for much of the day.

Volatility picked up, if only a little, the VIX settling +3.4% at 15.47.
